It was an awesome experience.”

When media persons asked Abhi regarding his role in the film, Abhishek answered, “I am playing the character of Roshan Mehra who is born and brought up in New York.”

“Roshan has never been to India but the course of the film brings him to his ancestral home for the first time. The challenge of the character was to stick out and blend into the surroundings,” he added.

Also, Abhishek is working with Mani Ratnam for the third time in ‘Ravana’ where his co-star is his wife Aishwarya.

He also said that he really proud of his wife’s achievement who recently received ‘Padamshri Award’ for her contribution to Indian cinema.

“It is a great honour to receive. I am proud of Aishwarya. Truly well deserved. I feel very blessed to be a part of a family which has received this honour 5 times,” he said.

She recently helped a desperate mum in a refugee camp during a UNICEF fact-finding trip, and revealed it on the Today show in America when host Kathie Lee Gifford asked her about it.

"You found a child that was starving to death, the mother had no milk - and you nursed that baby?"

Nodding her head, Hayek added: "It's about women sticking together and we really need to help the children in any way we can," Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

And now the actress is fighting to promote breastfeeding in Africa - because it helps boost the immune systems of at-risk babies.

"It is the best thing you can do for your child, not only the bonding, that''''s how you build the immune system, so in a country like Africa imagine how important it is for the mothers to do that," she said.

"But there is the belief that if you are breastfeeding you cannot have a sexual life, so the husbands of these women are really encouraging them to stop and this is just a taboo," she added.

I’d like To Get My Surgery Done On V-day: Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan has grand plans for Valentine’s Day, but not with wife Gauri. On a recent visit to Delhi, the actor said that it might be the I usually don’t do anything on Valentine’s Day, so I’d like to get my surgery done then. It’s just that there’s so much work – I can’t afford to be lying flat on a hospital bed for a month. I do need this surgery, but once my movie Billu Barber is placed well, I’ll have more time,” he explains.

Video results for Shah Rukh Khan

It’s not only movies that are keeping SRK from getting that surgery done. There’s also IPL. “There’s some planning to be done. In fact, I had a meeting regarding that two days ago in Delhi. But I don’t think that recession is going to affect IPL. I don’t even think recession is the word for the situation India is in. I would call it a time for ‘correction of figures’.” A correction in the figure that he charges, too? “I don’t think I’ll have to make much modification. I’ve never overcharged or undercharged. In both the film industry and the IPL, I don’t think we should jump to conclusions,” Shah Rukh says. And what about Shilpa Shetty entering the IPL fray? “All the best to her. I’m sure she took this decision after great consideration. I’d like all the teams to win, but I’ll be backing my own, of course!” he smiles.

Of course, no session with SRK is complete without the man’s display of wit. To a female photographer, he said, “For you, darling, I can remove my jacket and even my shirt! However, I don’t have anything written across my chest.” Was that a dig at ‘good friend’ Aamir Khan? “I’m not taking a dig at him or anyone else. It was just a joke. He does it too. There are certain things that others say in public, though, and I don’t like it. So I guess I’ll meet him soon and have a talk with him,” he says.

What he has done, however, is make it to many star lists – the sexiest, the hottest, the most popular … His take on the lists is, “I don’t understand these lists. I am on so many of them. Who makes these lists? I am the list!” And is he playing Mogambo in the new Mr India? “Mogambo, me? Come on, I’m a handsome young guy,” he laughs.

Let us present to you the one and only Mr. President, Barack Obama.

Ever since Amrita saw ‘shirtless’ pictures of Mr. O with his six-packs and all, she’s gone utterly nuts; and has been raving about him ever since. Amrita told us in an interview to ZOOM, “Obama looks nothing short of a Hollywood star man. What six-packs, what a body …!”

Hmmnn! You’re absolutely right gal, with that well-toned, chiselled body; he’s indeed the ‘Ab-ama’ of the new world. And ‘fit’ to be Mr President of a superpower too. On her next trip to the US of A, maybe Amrita should drop by at Precinct 1600, Pennsylvania Ave, DC? Even better, here’s an idea… gift the Obamas an original Husain painting. Who knows… if the lovely First Lady likes it… Amrita could be ‘framed’ in the White House forever. Wishful thinking, huh? No probs. As long as it gets her closer to the Big ‘O’. Wotsay?

"Though news of Fantasia''s return is apparently being kept under wraps - well, until now - I''m told the producers of the show are eager to see the High Point, North Carolina native return to the production," the Daily Express quoted AOL''s Black Voices columnist Jawn Murray as having written.

"My source told me that the negative attention Fantasia received by the `New York Post' in December of 2007 for missing 50 shows was unwarranted because the
24-year-old star single-handedly `made a truck load of money for that show'," Murray said.

Barrino was forced to skip a number of performances due to a tumour on her vocal chords, which has now been fully removed.

The Ghajini girl has been in the news ever since her Bollywood debut and now her upcoming movie ’London Dreams’ with Salman Khan is expected to follow up the success in a big way and rumour mills are abuzz about her fire hot chemistry with her co-star Salman Khan.

Asin said, “I think i have been lucky enough to share a great on-screen chemistry with all the heroes that I have worked with. In this one too the chemistry has worked out well. Not only between me and Salman but between me and Ajay too. I think everybody has to just wait for the film to release.”

Working in Pink Panther was a joy: Ashwarya Rai

Much has been written about Aishwarya Rai’s so-called minuscule role in Hollywood film “Pink Panther 2″. While the actress admits it is an out-and-out Steve Martin film, she maintains she signed it for an enriching experience and not for extra footage.
“It’s a bit silly and exhausting to even talk about the length of my role based on what’s seen in the trailers. Did anyone question my role in ‘Khakee’ when there was only one shot of me in the promo? Isn’t that a very myopic view of contemporary acting? In my very first film ‘Iruvar’, I thought I transcended this footage fetish,” Aishwarya told IANS.

Aishwarya, a former Miss World, doesn’t regret doing the film.

“I didn’t work in ‘Pink Panther 2′ because it was an international project. I got the script. I happily chose to be part of the film. They shot exactly what I was offered. I don’t need to work with stardust in my eyes.

“Of course, ‘Pink Panther’ is a Steve Martin vehicle. Is that something to question? All the rest of the wonderful cast including Jean Reno and Andy Garcia play supporting roles. I treasure the experience of working in ‘Pink Panther 2′.”

Aishwarya says footage is not a burning issue for her.

“The choices I’ve made in my career aren’t just about footage but an opportunity to work with actors, directors and technicians who enrich my life. Believe me working in ‘Pink Panther’ was a joy.

“It was a wonderful experience working with a stalwart like Steve Martin and the rest of the cast and crew. Why spoil it by questioning how much footage I have? So many Indian actors have worked in international ensemble casts.”

The actress attended the film’s premiere in New York Tuesday along with husband Abhishek Bachchan.

“They wanted me to be here for the film’s promotion from earlier on. But I couldn’t because of my prior commitments in India. We’ve a series of premieres lined up, which started in New York on Feb 3. From there it’s a crazy whirlwind trip that will take me to several countries and continents from Paris to Berlin to Moscow to Madrid.

“The final destination for my 15-day trip will take me to a screening at the Berlin film festival. Then I’m back and I go straight to resume Mani Ratnam’s film.”

It is a double celebration for Aishwarya in New York this week. First is the premiere of “Pink Panther 2″ that is followed by Abhishek’s birthday Thursday. The couple plans to celebrate his birthday in style.

“Abhishek is in New York with me. But he won’t be able to accompany me for my other premieres because he has to be in India for the promotion of ‘Delhi 6′,” said Aishwarya, who returns to India Feb 14.

Interestingly, Aishwarya was offered the lead opposite Will Smith in “Seven Pounds” which opens in Mumbai this week.

“Will Smith and I will work together for sure,” laughed Aishwarya. “There have been a number of offers. Dates just don’t work out. If he’s keen to work with me, so am I,” said the actress.

Miss Great Britain

London : Miss Great Britain Gemma Garrett has spilled the beans that disgraced bed-hopping comedian Russell Brand has been trying his luck with her for three years but in vain.

The 27-year-old, who is also the official face of the Formula 1 British Grand Prix, revealed that the prankster used his charms, which sent the women falling onto his feet.

"I've known Russell for three years. Of course he's tried it on - I'd have been insulted if he hadn't! He's very good-looking and he's got all the charm," the Daily Star quoted her as saying.

But Garrett insisted that she was yet to fall prey to him, and prefers to stay at bay because of his "popular" past.

She said: "I couldn't deal with all his past conquests. I just couldn't live with the knowledge of how many girls he's been with.

"I know there aren't many women who have managed it, but I've resisted him for three years! That's quite an achievement.

"Also body-wise he's not my type, though I will admit he's very good-looking and he's definitely got the charm.

"He's a great person to have as your friend, just not as your boyfriend.
