Hrithik, Priyanka declared best actors at Filmfare Awards

Mumbai, Bollywood stars Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra were declared the best male and female actors respectively at the glittering 54th Idea Filmfare Awards ceremony here late Saturday night.

Hrithik won the award for essaying the role of Emperor Akbar in "Jodhaa Akbar", while Priyanka walked away with the black lady statuette for her performance in "Fashion".

"Jodhaa Akbar" pipped "Dostana", "Ghajini", "Jaane Tu�Ya Jaane Na", "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi", and "Rock On!!" to bag the best film trophy, while the best director award went to Ashutosh Gowariker for "Jodhaa Akbar".

Held at the Yash Raj Studios here, the evening saw a plethora of Bollywood's Who's Who dressed in their fanciest best walking the red carpet at the event.

Sonal Chauhan Says Romantic Music Makes Me Happy

My workout regime:
l I don’t follow a strict regime. Fortunately I’m blessed with a good metabolism, so I can afford to skip my workout at times. Actors don’t have fixed timings of work — sometimes we work for 24 hours at a stretch — like I did last week for a song in Bangalore. After an exhausting shoot like that, there was no way any of us could hit the gym the next day, but I try to work out as and when I can because it refreshes me. On those days that I hit the gym, I alternate between cardio and weight training. I also do yoga whenever I’m not exercising. It keeps me fresh and energetic. I also like cycling. Besides, a good run is always refreshing. Being in Bollywood means a lot of dancing, so that should be counted as a fitness mantra too!

My daily diet:
l Breakfast is the most important meal for me. I start my day with a glass of vegetable juice and a glass of orange juice with two egg whites and toast. Apart from that I eat everything, like burgers and pizzas, pani puri to Chinese. Italian is my favourite cuisine and all Italian dishes are so full of cheese! I do, however, believe in having small portions for my meals. As such I end up eating six to eight small meals that keep me going through the day. When one eats two or three times a day, one tends to overeat, which is why it is better to have small meals to do away with overeating.
My happiness quotient:
l My happiness quotient lies in music. I love romantic music. Things that I see around me, like happy children crossing the street as I pass by or seeing cute little puppies also pep me up.
These are all very small things but they give me tremendous joy. I feel happy when people around me are happy and of course spending time with my family gives me immense happiness.

My idea of relaxation:
l Relaxation to me means two words: sleep and shop. I am a total shopaholic! Some people get tired of shopping but it really does rejuvenate me! It stimulates me creatively and gets me to experiment. And sleeping, what can I say, I can sleep anywhere, anytime…no fuss! If you ask me to stand at a bus stop and fall asleep, believe me, I will!

Anil Kapoor feels Freida Pinto is dating Dev Patel

London : Anil Kapoor has revealed that even he feels that his ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ co-stars Freida Pinto, 24, and Dev Patel, 18, are dating off-screen.

Rumours about Freida and Deve have been spreading ever since it was reported last month that the ex-model had dumped her fiance Rohan Antao.

Kapoor’s comment on the speculation came when he appeared on a US radio station.

“I think this is the beginning of something exciting. They definitely make a great pair and look very good together,” the Sun quoted him as saying.

Referring to a “magical chemistry” between the two young stars, presenter Ryan Seacrest asked Kapoor: “Dev and Freida…is there any action going on behind the scene there?”

The actor, who who stars as the game show host facing Dev’s character in Slumdog, replied: “As a matter of fact, when I meet them I feel there is something happening. But she says, ‘I have to look after him’ and ‘I have to babysit him’ and that kind of stuff.”

Katrina Kaif misses chance to work with Fardeen in ALL THE BEST

If director Rohit Shetty (of GOLMAAL RETURNS) had his way, Katrina Kaif would have been his leading lady for ALL THE BEST. An Ajay Devgan production, it already boasted of an enviable cast comprising of Ajay Devgan, Bipasha Basu and Sanjay Dutt. For Fardeen Khan, another male lead in the film, it’s a sort of comeback and Katrina Kaif being roped into the film would have only added to the star quotient.

Confirms a source on condition of anonymity, ”Makers of the film were convinced that Katrina Kaif was just right for the role of this glamorous 20 something young woman. Since Rohit’s films are always high on glamour quotient, Katrina would have been a welcome addition to the multi starrer.”

Narrating an interesting anecdote, he adds, ”Also, it would have been a casting coup since Katrina has never worked with Fardeen before. However, she has shared screen space with his dad Feroz Khan in WELCOME. It seemed that she was set to play a role in the film.”

However, this wasn’t the case to be as Katrina couldn’t be a part of the film that resulted in an overnight search for another actress. This is where Mugdha Godse came into picture and the young glamorous woman was more than happy to grab the role in a multistarrer like ALL THE BEST which looks like a winner from the word Go.

Deli-6 for Bollywood

MUMBAI: After his much acclaimed RANG DE BASANTI, which captured the imagination of India’s uber-cool generation, director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is ready with his latest offering, DELHI-6. The music of the forthcoming movie, which stars actors Sonam Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan for the first time, has already grabbed the attention of the cinema goers. AR Rahman’s score for DELHI-6 is fresh and melodious, especially the song ‘Masakalli’, which has become a rage.

In this context, Ganesha gives a sneak astrological and numerological preview of DELHI-6, forecasting its fate before it releases on February 20, 2009. Will it storm the Box Office or die out with a whimper?

It’s Gowns For Bollywood Divas At Filmfare

Bollywood divas take a tip from the Oscar red carpet for the Filmfare Awards tonight, discovers TOI.

The doe-eyed Celina Jaitley, known for her stylish cuts, is not willing to reveal much. But we have it on authority that she’ll make a grand entry in a Joe Mansoorie creation in beige and, in all probability, a Western outfit.

Mugdha Godse, the leggy stunner from Madhur Bhandarker’s Fashion , is still doing some serious thinking before her wardrobe, but will probably place her bets on a Western outfit. From the looks of it, Western ensemble will rule this Filmfare Awards night, but do watch out for some lovely saris as well.
As for make-up, artist Mickey Contractor predicts that the red carpet look is going to be smoky eyes with long eyelashes in metallic colours, especially in shades of burgundy, hues of brown, copper and matt. The huge trend in lip colour is the glossy yet nude look. No flaming red, please, unless you are in a Kanjeevaram!

“Considering India, plus at the onset of autumn-winter, the nude yet made-up look is going to be in. If you’re wearing make-up, let it show but in an understated fashion,” says Contractor.

AR Rahman Visits Dargah in Kadapa

After two wins at the Oscars, music maestro AR Rahman visited a dargah today (February 27), to pay homage to his almighty.

The music maestro visited a Madrasa-a-Ameeniya in Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh on the day of his arrival in India (February 26).

Double Oscar winner Allah Rakha Rahman on Thursday dedicated the golden statuettes he won for his score in “Slumdog Millionaire” to Indian artistes and their aspirations and said he was only their representative. “This is an award for Indian artistes and their aspirations. I am their representative,” Rahman told reporters in Chennai.

Aishwarya Rai To Steal The Show

Mumbai: While we are yet to watch whether it’s a meaty or a miniscule screen space for Aishwarya Rai in ‘Pink Panther 2’, the blue-eyed beauty continues to make headlines for her Hollywood connection. And after being flaked for her insignificant performance in ‘Pink Panther 2’, buzz now has it that the stunner plays an important role and the movie would be incomplete without her thief act.

Don’t believe us? Then wait, till you catch the beauty play the role of the lead villain in the flick. According to grapevine, Ash’s role is of such significance that the movie wouldn’t have fared well without her.

Speaking to a news daily a source stated, “She is actually the one who steals the Pink Panther diamond, and in the end, Steve Martin finds out”.

The gorgeous lady plays the role of Sonia Solandres, a criminology expert, in the film. She is part of the team of detectives who are trying to find the Pink Panther diamond. But in the end, Inspector Clouseau finds out that Sonia is the real culprit and no criminology expert. “The climax has a fight scene where Ash even kicks some butt and tries to flee. But eventually, she gets caught and is put behind bars,” adds the source.

Looks like Aishwarya can finally take a breather.
