It’s Gowns For Bollywood Divas At Filmfare

Bollywood divas take a tip from the Oscar red carpet for the Filmfare Awards tonight, discovers TOI.
Is your head still spinning with the red carpet razzmatazz at the Oscar’s? Well then, brace yourself for more glitz and glamour as our own Bollywood stars sizzle in their designer best for the 54th Idea Filmfare Awards.
The gown, which draped sexy Hollywood divas, from Kate Winslet to Alicia Keys and Queen Latifa, is the current flavour with our desi beauties too.
Jaane Tu star Genelia D’Souza, who surprised us with her spirited act on screen, has picked a pristine white crepe gown designed by Hyderabad-based Anand Kabra. It’s embellished with jewels accentuated with DeBeer diamonds. Genelia will definitely the one to watch out for!
Then there’s the sultry Raima Sen, always dressed purrr-fectly for the occasion, who has to make the big decision between a Ritu Kumar gown or a Jean Paul Gaultier ensemble. Looks like the gown is set to make a real splash this season! For accessories, diamonds are this girl’s best friends too!
The doe-eyed Celina Jaitley, known for her stylish cuts, is not willing to reveal much. But we have it on authority that she’ll make a grand entry in a Joe Mansoorie creation in beige and, in all probability, a Western outfit.
For buxom beauty, Neha Dhupia, who stole the show from veterans in Mithya , it’s Rohit Bal! Though she wouldn’t reveal much about the colour and cut, if it’s Bal, it’s definitely going to be a showstopper and well worth the wait to find out! Watch out for Neha at the awards night…
Mugdha Godse, the leggy stunner from Madhur Bhandarker’s Fashion , is still doing some serious thinking before her wardrobe, but will probably place her bets on a Western outfit. From the looks of it, Western ensemble will rule this Filmfare Awards night, but do watch out for some lovely saris as well.
As for make-up, artist Mickey Contractor predicts that the red carpet look is going to be smoky eyes with long eyelashes in metallic colours, especially in shades of burgundy, hues of brown, copper and matt. The huge trend in lip colour is the glossy yet nude look. No flaming red, please, unless you are in a Kanjeevaram!

“Considering India, plus at the onset of autumn-winter, the nude yet made-up look is going to be in. If you’re wearing make-up, let it show but in an understated fashion,” says Contractor.
