You go, girl : Sushmita
I’d choose Hillary Clinton. She contested courageously against Barack Obama, lost and then went on to
take up the post of secretary of state. She didn’t fall apart even when she had trouble in her personal life, moved ahead and put it all behind her.
Her Indian counterpart is Sonia Gandhi. I think she’s a great leader. She’s someone who never spoke a word of Hindi and who lost her husband at an early age. In spite of all the pressure, she moved on with determination and is now the virtual head of our ruling government.
Prahlad Kakkar, ad guru
Sonia Gandhi is the epitome of dignity, strength and elegance. She takes her stand with grace. She’s the kind of person that even men look up to. Another commendable woman is Renuka Chowdhury. She is a true warrior for women’s rights and someone who’s not shaken by anything. If there’s an enemy of women today, it’s Nirmala Venkatesh, who’s betrayed her kind.
Raj Shroff, fashion designer
Sonia Gandhi is an icon for today’s women. She’s extraordinarily courageous, surviving in a world of dirty politics and holding her own amid male politicians. Sushmita Sen is the ultimate woman of substance. She is like a man living a woman’s life. She is independent and caring. She knows to live life on her own terms.
Aditya, actor
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is an example of a perfect woman. She’s one of the most beautiful women in the world and the first Indian actress to have achieved global fame. She’s taken India to the international arena.
