Toyota Etios enters the Indian market. Toyota Etios sedan that has been custom designed for the mass market is going to be a direct competition for Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and even Ford. The Toyota Etios sedan has been compared with Maruti Suzuki’s Dzire and the Mahindra Renault Logan ever since its appearance in the 2010 Auto Expo. Quite similar in many ways to the Dzire and Logan, people who have taken a test drive vouch that Toyota Etios sedan has some additional features that are bound to give the Japanese and French manufacturers a run for their money.Review of Toyota Etios sedan

Looks wise, Toyota Etios sedan is not much of a car. It has some resemblance to the Innova especially in the front part and the chrome band near the boot lid is an advantage, but otherwise is quite plain to look at. The triangular lamps at the rear don’t help. The real winner of Toyota Etios sedan is its interior space. Test drives show that both the front and rear seats of the car allow ample leg and shoulder room and the back seat is designed in a manner as to avoid any discomfort to the person sitting in the middle. The downside is that the controls in the car are for most part analog. There is a general complaint that the insides look very plastic. And a major drawback is that Toyota Etios sedan has only one wiper.

Toyota Etios sedan runs on petrol and it has a powerful 1500 cc engine. According to test reviews, the car is well suited for Indian roads except for some internal and external noises while driving. Toyota Etios sedan offers a mileage of 17.6 km per liter on good roads and is available at a base price of 5 lakhs. The hatchback version of Etios, the Toyota Etios Liva is to be launched next April.
